The one sportbike that polarizes opinions the most is Suzuki’s iconic Suzuki Hayabusa. Some love it, others hate it, there’s no thinking otherwise than that the Suzuki Hayabusa is too damn quick, but the Suzuki Hayabusa ’s looks are what draw the most argument. The deep sweeping lines, portly bodywork, sharp nose and distint rear end lends it a look all its own.

During the past couple of years, the brutally fast Suzuki Hayabusa has changed from an odd looking sportbike that was not really loved by the majority of riders, into the most recognizeable motorcycles ever built. During its time as THE streetbike, the Suzuki Hayabusa has become the very image of Suzuki’s sportbike line, with over 11k new units sold per year.

The Suzuki Hayabusa might not have been made for the racetrack at first; However, the Suzuki Hayabusa does tend to dominate the 1/4 mile to make up for its lack of roadcourse dexterity. The pure power you get with a twist of the throttle helps it to dominate the strip. To help in the fight against Kawi’s larger cc ZX14, the Suzuki Hayabusa ’s had an increase in displacement from up to 1340cc’s. That is achieved with a 2 mm longer stroke that ups the bike from the previous 1299cc. Besides that change, the basics of the Suzuki Hayabusas engine remains unchanged, with a big emphasis on making the motor do more. Updated aluminum-alloy pistons are 5grams lighter and boast a changed piston crown that up compression from 11:1 to 12.5:1. New shot-peened conn-rods latch on to the crankshaft to accommodate the longer stroke. While the valve size is unchanged (33mm intake and 27.5mm exhaust) titanium is the new metal of choice, which manages to shave off 25.8 grams total. Suzuki motorcycles boasts that these updates, added to the dual 44mm Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) throttle-bodies and the 2 new fine-spray fuel injectors for each cylinder, cooperate along side the newmotors management system(32-bit 1024 kb ROM) in order to make sure the whole packe works without catching fire. For all their efforts, Suzuki claims the new Suzuki Hayabusa has had a bump of 20 additional ponies, which equals an increased 195 horsepower and a similiarly fat torque curve (up to 114 foot lbs.).

Nobody can argue the facts on the new Suzuki Hayabusa. It is a monster. However, the question remains, will old hayabusa lovers feel the same about the new Suzuki Hayabusa? At first glance, the motorcycle is deffinately different. THe busa has two ram air intakes coupled with a one ontop of the other headlight set up rounding out the upgraded front end. It also has a sharper, edgier feel to the body work, which was not changed to far from the previous model. A few more sharp curves, an added flowing line here and there, and there we have it. So far, the aftermarket has jumped right into the new Suzuki Hayabusa, with fat tire kits and extended swingarms in addition to the normal bolt on mods.

Only time will tell if the new Suzuki Hayabusa is going to be the same big hit its older brother was, but so far, the future looks promising.

Suzuki and their engineers have toyed around alot with the new GSX1300R Hayabusa, updating its styling without sacraficing the original looks and personality the motorcycle was famout for. As a result of the new updates, the Suzuki Hayabusa appears really sleek. One of the old complaints from the busa’s detractors came from the looks department. Riders and reviewers alike complained that the bike was portly and unweildly looking, with its bulging curves and fat front fairing. While not everyone disliked the looks, a few did, and they were loud about it. The updated for 2007 Suzuki Hayabsua looks to draw in new in fans while keeping enough of its old charm to keep previous model owners. But that is not where the suzuki engineers stopped. Not by a long shot. The motor has gone up in cc’s, and while the size has increased so has horsepower and torque output. Like making the fastest motorcycle made faster was necessary. The newer Busa has also had an upgrade in the cornering department. Handling has also increase, quite a bit really. The feel of the upgraded suzuki hayabusa was significantly improved, adding a more gentle step forward. In addition, the binders of the new busa had some attention too. The upgraded brakes are a much better, and the timing could not be better.

The Suzuki Hayabusa can be a powerful engine of post-production market, parallel to the ZZ-R1400 Kawasaki, Suzuki and 115ftlb quoting 194.bhp tq for the Hayabusa. Suzuki’s new motorcycle was not limited at all in the 1st few gears, from below full output up to the speedlimiter at 186 mph.

Little has been altered on the updated Suzuki Hayabusa: It retains the same length wheelbase, and rake/trail have remained unchanged as well. However, shock and front fork have been improved and strengthened swingarm. Fortunately, Hayabusa, the brakes are radial aos now and make an excellent selection of halting the big motorcycle, with no discoloration, even on the runway. As you thought, the Suzuki Hayabusa is unable to be flung around a road course like its smaller gixxer bretheren, but if you drive it gently, it is a very rewarding ride and with a little DIY is a decent trail bike.

Completely adjustable suspension is standard from front to rear on the brand new Hayabusa and as with any big new Suzuki motorcycle there is a 3 way switch which limits power. And its not a gimmick as you really do feel the difference between output modes, as it makes the new Hayabusa alot less of a beast as it was before.

From a cosmetic standpoint, the Suzuki Hayabusa was tweaked, especially the rear, and there exists a noticeable upgrade in the terms of quality of the paint finish. I am very pleased with the new body, the quality of workmanship is first class, the paint is deep, overall its just much better than the original Hayabusa. Seeing as its a suzuki, reliability is not going to be a question.

Overall, there is not much money for probably the bike serial fastest on the planet, it will be sufficient to watch the 2007 Suzuki Haybusa as it tops the sales charts. With the quality of the finishing greatly improved, it seems smoother, but still retains the essential character of a Suzuki Hayabusa.

The Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa motorcycle is a seriously quick, gifted with great acceleration and maximum speed breathtaking. Certainly, the GSX1300R Hayabusa does not always find a way to put to the ground all that power, sometimes too brilliant, but he remains a supremely comfortable long-range rocket, which still offers a good dose of adrenaline first. Latest version is even better. You might notice a trend here.

The original Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R is very simple, but brutally effective monster four-cylinder, 1299cc motor is absolutely bulletproof, does not chug too much fuel every day (ie double digit) speeds and its fuel injection also works very effectively. The huge amount of torque midrange that Hayabusa GSX1300R product is particularly impressive and makes highway riding extremely comofortable and easy. Having said that, the newer busa is even better though.

Now this is where the GSX1300R Hayabusa has a few problems. Firstly, it has a half-touring type ride with soft suspension-ish, which lets the front of the motorcycle get alittle light and wiggle and move when braking too hard. And speaking of brakes, Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R’s do start to fade a little too much on repeated use of 150 mph plus speed stops….Speeds which just happen to be made in a mind boggling 12 seconds on big suzuki . As a sport touring motorcycle, the GSX1300R Hayabusa is very much more touring than sport in its overall management.

This front end that has caused so much controvery on the Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R functions very well, and it was meant for drilling holes in the air at 180 mph, but keeping unclement weather off its owner too, but here again, the updated hayabusa is even better. Good lighthouse accommodation comfortable rider and passenger, 4 tiedown hooks and some safe under the saddle – more throwover bags should be able to be attached even when full to the Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300. Again, it is an able tourer. The big busa even has a handrail too.

Reliability now. While it is more or less excellent with the big Hayabusa GSX1300R, the back wheel bearings have sometimes been known to reduce sometimes at relatively few miles. The biggest problem of long-term ownership GSX1300R Hayabusa is the quality put into the finish of quite a few of the components, which is just not up to par. There rust, she opposes it fades alloys, unless you keep well above it and clean all the nooks and crannies. Exhausts rot too.

Like the Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa reached the end of his life today, there should be good business to be received on the currently updated motorcycle, which is almost unaltered from its inception in1999. It’s a proven and reliable rocket, space, and a bike really can hike, although it eats rear tires at a pace of about 1500-2000 miles, book for a couple of stops tire on your long range motorcycle tour, if you take a GSX1300R Hayabusa.

It is very fast and stable. Please watch the video to see how it looks up close and watch me drive it up the street. Please feel free to call or email me with questions. Thanks marcus (617) 285-2966 (cell)
